Experience Art from D Scott Corrigan
Fine Art Paintings
Welcome to online gallery of D Scott Corrigan. This artist began self-teaching with oil paint circa 2003. He has since been learning academically and experimenting with other mediums, seeking to establish what he likes to see as his own visual language in the wide world of visual arts. He's sort of a big picture kind of guy. He sees each artist's recognizable style as a visual language; from Picasso to Renoir to cave sketches of unknown artists. He gives considerable thought to what makes art - art.
Artist Bio
David Scott Corrigan
Southern California has been my home for most of my years. I have an eclectic taste in music, movies, and art. Whatever looks good, sounds good, and feeds the soul is what I consider good work. I started painting as a hobby, and enjoyed it so much that I took it just a touch more seriously and learned color theory, anatomy, composition and space, and working with other media in classrooms. Now I'm making a business of creating fine art for homes and offices.

Creating a Series
July 1st, 2017
My painting style is sort of all over the place, and it hasn't been easy getting satisfactory feedback. Creating categories for my work has been beneficial, as it helps keep my styles targeted toward certain types of viewers. I have a series of Impressionist works, and Abstract. As well as a collection of detailed work that doesn't fit either series.
My Process Through Oil

Oil paint is the most permeating, it gets everywhere. For this reason, I refused to try it for the first half of my life.
